Another award!

I have been working hard on trying to lose weight, and today I got another award for my hard work and dedication. I received my 50 pounds gone award! I am actually done 50.9 pounds altogether as of today. This has been a hard road to go on, but completely worth it! Every time I am tempted I think about days like this, and how I feel getting another award for my efforts. So now I am down to 163.6!

Update

I have been bad about updating this summer, but it has been crazy and hectic! I love being on summer break and not having to get up and go to school or stay out being at work. Well I have still been keeping up with watching what I eat- though I have let myself eat more than I usually do during the school year. Since my last post I have gotten rid of 6.2 more pounds. This brings me down to 168! I am so excited to be below 170. I am still waiting to be below 170 at night. Last night was the first time I did get below 170, though I am sure it won't stay that way for good... eventually it will be :)

Update

Since my last post, I am now down to 174.2! I had a little backslide last week when I went to Oklahoma. I don't know if it was completely me, or the fact that I had to ride in a car the whole day before weigh in- not exercising the way I normally I don't know if altitude plays into effect- but anyways, I was up .7 pounds last week, and was down 3 more this past week. No matter what I keep going forward and never give up. I am so excited every time that number on the scale keeps going down. I am working towards my next small goal of losing 50 pounds, so 10 more to go on that one. And my night time goal is now being below 170. I don't know if anyone reads this anymore, but if you do- thanks!! :)

Time out for Women

Well this weekend I went to a "Time out for Women" conference. It was amazing! I loved it! It really helped me feel calm and relaxed. I could feel the spirit the whole entire time. Some highlightes I got to meet John Bytheway, who is one of my favorite LDS speakers. If you have never heard of him look him up and find out more.
Some highlights of the 2 day event: Always close the bathroom door! No I didnt have any problem with this, but one of the speakers, who happens to be blind, told the funniest more embarrasing story about going into a stall, pulling her pants down and while she was feeling for the tolet- felt a head of hair instead.... Something else from this wonderful women, blind people really can't drive- not even with the window down using their walking stick... lol And no, blind people can't just feel the tv and feel the vibrations to know what is going on in the show. One more thing, if you ever meet a blind person, don't ask them if they have taught their children sign language so that they can communicate with them- yes this really happened to her.
Another wonderful women told about a mother who asked I think it was, Elder Packer, about forcing her children to go to church. He replied basically, well I kind of go along my strawberry patch about this sort of thing. If I would ever allow it to just grow however it wants, it will chose weeds every time. So in other words, it is perfectly fine to make your children go to church as long as they are living under your roof. It can be part of what your family does together, end of discussion. Growing up in the church I have known a lot of different families, some of which made their children go every sunday, some of which did not. The families that gave their children the option and freedom to decide, their children did just that and decided they would rather sleep. Along with this a lot to most of their children as they grew up and are all adults now, do not attend church anymore. The families that made their children go, most of them still go and attend. There are always exceptions of course- but are you willing to take that chance on your children?
There is more and as the days and weeks go by I will write more, and I will write who actually said what I am giving them credit for once I find the program and know their names. :)

Another week!

Well I know I have been writing every 2 weeks, but this past week meant a lot to me at the meeting. I got rid of another 1.5 pound this week, bringing me down to 184! I am still very excited oviously, yet still going forward every day.
While I was at the meeting, I also got my 30 pound star! When you lose 10 pounds at weight watchers you get this ribbon, and then every 10 pounds after that you get a star. After you get a reward during the meeting, the leader always asks if there is anything you would like to share with the rest of the group. This time I felt that I should share that I weigh and measure everything I eat every single time. After the meeting a woman come up to me and started talking to me. She told me how inspiring I am, and how great it is that I have gotten rid of so much weight so fast. She also told me how she had thought about doing the same thing with food of weighing and measuring everything but she wasnt sure if it really was worth her time. After I said that during the meeting she said she was going to try it. I felt really great knowing that I inspired someone, and encouraged them to continue trying.
So now that I have gotten so far in my goals, I have to come up with more goals. I have already stated my final goal, so I guess I will put down my little goals from here out that I want to get to. My next goal I think will be 35 pounds- although I wont get anything from weight watchers- the next goal will be 40. I have been keeping my evening goals since I started, the first was being below 200 at night, followed by being under 190 at night. I just got to the under 190 goal, and my next "night time" goal is to be under 180. I'll write again in 2 weeks! In 2 weeks, I will be getting a charm for going to 16 meetings!

Getting closer every day!

So another two weeks has gone by. I got rid of 3.7 more pounds! My weight is now 185.5. This is both exciting and encouraging. The more I get rid of, the more I feel confident that I can get to my goal weight. I still think 115-125 will be my goal in the end. However if I get to 135 and feel excellent and can't seem to lose more, I will be okay with that. At 135 I will be a lifetime member of weight watchers and won't have to pay a weekly fee anymore as long as I stay within 2 pounds of my goal weight. I am so excited to get to that point and I can't wait!
So right now my total weight lose is 29 pounds!! By the time I get to 115-125 I will have gotten rid of 99.5-89.5 pounds. If I go with 135 even, I will have gotten rid of 79.5 pounds which is a lot! I am only bewteen 70.5-50.5 pounds from my goal. In reality it is not that much more.

Away from home

So in the last two weeks, I have lost: 5.3 pounds! This brings my total weight loss up to 25.3 pounds! This brings me down to 189.2!!! Still going, and every little bit gets me closer to that final goal weight. I think my goal weight is going to be 125. So with that in mind I have 64.3 pounds to go. Last night I was carrying around my bag full of children's books, thinking how heavy the bag was and how I couldn't wait until my weight loss was the same amount as that bag. So I took it up and weighed it, and it was 26.1 pounds. Since I watch my weight every day I knew I was up to at least 25 pounds lost, so that made me very excited knowing that I am almost to that bag's weight!
I am on my spring break this week and so I am visiting my wonderful sister and her family. Because of this, I did not go to my normal meeting place. However there is a meeting close by here that meets the same day, in the morning. Everyone there was really nice and welcoming. In about 7 weeks I will be in Oklahoma going to a weight watchers meeting there. It makes me nervous to think about sometimes, but yet I am very excited at the same time.
Well now on to my next goal of losing 30 pounds! I"ll write again in 2 weeks!

March 5, 2010

So 2 weeks have gone by, and my weight loss for the 2 weeks is 3 pounds. That brings my total weight loss up to 20 pounds! So now my weight has gone down to 194.5. Again not close to where I want to be, but closer. So wish me luck this next couple of weeks! I am almost to my goal of %10 weight loss, so my next goal will be 25 pounds, followed directly by 30! :)

Not so great, but not bad either

Well I only lost half a pound this week, which is so disappointing. So now I am down to 197.5, and have lost 17 pounds. Only losing half a pound in a week is hard when you work so hard all week. I am not sure what else I can get rid of or cut back on... at least not without going without what I really love. Well wish me luck for this next week.
Oh and on a side note, it turns out there was a mistake with my weight lose paper, so a couple of times ago I actually lost 3 pounds. So really if I think about how I lost 3 pounds one week, and the next 2.5, I guess .5 is just my bodies way of evening it all up- Life goes on one way or another, so you might as well enjoy it while you can.

Getting repetitive....

Well another week is gone again. Things seem to be getting repetitive... although I am not complaining, because that means that I am still losing weight. This week was no different than any other, I lost 3 pounds. Although it might actually be 3.5. I say that because last week my leader put that I lost 2.5 pounds- from 204 to 201. And as you can see if you subtract, that is 3 pounds. So either she accidentally wrote I lost 2.5, and I really lost 3, or she accidentally wrote 201 and she meant 201.5. Anyways, I still am down to 198 anyway you look at it.
Things have been going really good. I am so use to measuring and calculating now it doesn't really bother me. Especially since I keep losing so much so soon. I am excited about my success. Only 5.4 pounds until I reach my %10 goal.
Some things I think have lead to my success are, giving up soda, exercising every night, and not eating salt on Wednesdays. This last one I just thought I would try this week. I noticed I eat A LOT of salt through the day (pretzels, chips, popcorn.. etc.) So far, it all seems to be working. :)

First week of Feb.

Just a plain update this time. I don't have much else to say. :) I lost another 2.5 pounds this last time. Because of this I received my %5 weight loss sticker! This brings me down to 201.5! I get more and more excited every week that the number gets closer to under 200. Now that I have made it to my first goal of losing %5, it is on to my next goal, %10! To get there I have to lose 21.4 pounds. I am up to 13 pounds, so only 8.4 pounds to go! I hope that I can happen in 4 weeks. After that goal, my next will be losing 25 pounds.

Recipes

I've decided that I am going to put on some recipes, and some websites that have good recipes as well. First for the websites, these are some that I have found to be helpful since it includes serving sizes and points values. I will keep coming back when I find more.

January 29th, 2010

I lost another 2.5 pounds this past week. That brings my total up to 10.5 pounds lost. This is getting easier in so many ways. The more people I tell, the more I want to make sure I succeed. So if you are trying to lose weight, do what I am doing, and make it as public as you are comfortable. It does help. So with my latest weight loss, I am down to 204. I know it will still be a long hard road, but with so many people supporting and uplifting me, I know I can make it.
One thing I am trying to focus on this semester is staying calm, and unstressed. Every semester I get stressed and either start eating too much, or my body will just make me either not lose weight, or gain weight.
Oh and an update on trying to cut out soda, I have only drank one can since Monday- Jan 25, and today is the 29th which I think is pretty good compared to what I use to drink. I think it helped me lose that 2.5 pounds this last time. Now my next goal along with finishing up that not quite pound until I reach %5, is going to start exercising more. I do have that little machine in my room which is easy to use, and easier to use it while I watch one of my favorite shows, Yes Dear.
Eventually I will start putting up recipes that are good and low in points. I hope to be able to do that when things slow down... so that might not be until this summer :) so be patient. In the mean time I do suggest going on google.com and just typing in weight watcher recipes, or something like that and lots of them will come up.

Another week gone

Well another week has come and gone in this new year. Every week brings me that much closer to my end goal. It seems to get harder from week to week as well. The longer you go, the longer it seems it will take to get there. I wonder sometimes if I will get there, or if like so many time before I will fail and quit. However I do know that is why I bought the 12 week commitment plan. So at least for these next 10 weeks I will keep going... then after that I'll buy another 12 week plan. :)
Well now for my results for the week, I lost another pound. Losing this pound brings my total loss to 8 pounds, and bring me down to 206.5. I was pretty disappointed, however I had lost 7 pounds the week before, which is good. I was thinking I do drinking A LOT of soda, even though it is calorie free, that might be getting in the way. So one of my goals for this week is to slowly cut out soda, adding more water. Now my other goal has to do with the points I am alloted every week. Along with my 28 points I am suppose to eat every day, I am alloted 35 points through the week, extra points, that I can use or not use for anytime, anyday and so on. However I think this week, I am going to try to not use one of those points.
For this next week, I will just endure. :)
Oh and as a little side note, I figured out that I should have taken away a point for the last week... I don't think this made a difference, but maybe with not eating that, not eating the flex points, and cutting back on soda I will succeed.

A great week!

I went to another weight watchers meeting this morning. I lost 7 pounds since the last time. Of course the last time was 10 days ago, so that does make a little bit of a difference. And the first week on weight watchers, you always lose the most weight in a week you will lose. After this week, I should lose between 1-2 pounds a week.
Losing so much the first week really makes me feel good about this, and makes me know it is worth it. I am so excited about losing weight now! Plus weighing in every week will make the weeks go by faster.
So like I said I am going to put on here every part of my weight loss, so with simple subtraction, I am down to 207.5. Still NOWHERE near where I want to be, but closer. :) Well I'll update next Thusday!

It's started! :)

So my first weight watchers meeting went really well. It was like I remembered from the last time I use to go. It also made me feel better seeing someone that I have known my whole life working behind that counter. I didn't feel weird about stepping on that scale, knowing that she also went through weight watchers.
And now I am going to do something I never thought I would do. I am going to put on here every part of my weight loss, so as to really encourage myself to keep going. Starting with how much I weigh now.... which is really hard to admit to everyone and anyone who might read this. I am starting my weight loss journey, as I will call it, at 214.5 pounds. My first small goal is to lose 5 pounds, followed directly by my next goal of losing 5% of my starting weight, 10.725 or basically 11 pounds. :)
I haven't decided if I am going to update every week, or just everytime I get each of my goals and then pick the next goal and so on.... If anyone who cares to read this cares either way, let me know. If not I will just get on here and update sometime :)
I decided to include a link of my tracking of everything I eat, how many points it is worth and so on. http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AgRsf3Rt-jYVdFplbExQLUFDYTYteWh0VGViSU9JWXc&hl=en tell me if it doesn't work or you can't open it. You just need to copy and paste it on a new tab.
